Raani Begum

Raani is developing an interactive, public art installation focused on sex work decriminalization and harm reduction work. This art installation will move through neighborhoods of Philadelphia that have been heavily impacted by the war on drugs, and the resulting intercommunity violence.  The installation will highlight the intersection of the demands of the sex worker rights movement with those of other social movements for collective liberation including police abolition, disability justice, reproductive justice and land sovereignty – as well as feature a Sex Worker Bill of Rights. Facilitated community conversations with other workers of informal and disenfranchised economies will also be amplified to inform campaigns for the decriminalization of sex work and to advocate for the human and labor rights of sex workers.
