The National Domestic Workers Alliance - Pennsylvania Chapter
The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the home for this country’s 2.5 million nannies, housecleaners, and caregivers. Since 2018, the Pennsylvania Chapter of NDWA has been organizing domestic workers to build power, win labor protections, and create community for domestic workers. We have a strong multiracial, multilingual membership who work together to make sure that all domestic work is dignified, safe, and respected.

Overview
Thien Dinh will collaborate with the National Domestic Workers Alliance – Pennsylvania Chapter (NDWA-PA) to complete a feature-length documentary exploring the intersections of race, labor, immigration, and caregiving through the story of an immigrant Filipina home care worker. Grounded in the experiences of domestic workers and shaped through collaboration with NDWA-PA members, the film will examine how systems of exclusion have shaped labor protections while highlighting the collective power of immigrant workers organizing for justice. The residency will also produce a community-designed discussion guide and multimedia resources that support political education, cross-racial dialogue, and movement building. Through community screenings, facilitated conversations, and organizing partnerships, the project will serve as both a storytelling platform and a tool for advancing immigrant and worker justice in Philadelphia and beyond.
