Overview
DREADHEAD is Crystal Anokam's documentary photo project that aims to rewrite the negative perceptions of Black people with dreadlocks (locs). Crystal's hope is to visually humanize this hairstyle and the people who wear it. At the completion of the project, the photographs will culminate in a photo book as well as a virtual showcase that will be used to both shed light on social and political issues around Black hair and inspire action within communities.
